Now then Fin hows it going? Let’s get the obvious out the way! How old are you, how long have you been Skating and what go you into it?
Yeah I’m doing good, I’m 18 I’ve been skating about five years! I got into skating as I went camping at the beach, as a kid and did a lot of surfing with my dad, and he encouraged me to get a skateboard when I showed interest in it, and I just instantly loved it.
So, how does it feel to be asked to be Quay Skater of the month for April?
Yeah it feels great to know that I’m progressing, cause sometimes you don’t really see it yourself!

You’ve been killing it of late man, thought you deserved some shine, was impressed with the line down at West, Kickflip out the kicker then nose grind down the hubba, that one turned my head! Do you get down to West much or go other places?
Cheers man I really appreciate that, yeah west is the main park I go to and I skate some street, but I used to skate Beresford and Quaddy park a lot, however West is mainly we’re everyone meets up! So it’s nice to go there more, especially now the weathers getting nicer, I’m excited to skate street more often!
All good boss! Yeah that can be the case sometimes, you get stuck in your own head, whereas people looking in can see the progress. Weather is definitely getting better for street especially, are we going to see a street part from you in the near future?
Yeah I definitely, I want to take some time to try make a really good part in the future for sure!
What do you think about the Hull scene? seems to be coming up again with another generation, sure you’ve seen some change over the 5 years you’ve been in it?
There definitely is a lot of new younger skaters that seem very enthusiastic! Which is great to see. Also, a lot of the people I’ve seen skating over the years have stayed skating too, this is encouraging to see.
Yes it is always great to see people you grew up with skating, still at it! Do you have a crew you skate with regularly?
Most of the time I just rock up to west and my mates are there, but if it’s dead I’ll ring up Gabe see what’s going on if anyones skating anywhere else.

So what do you do then when you’re not skating? Job, college, uni etc.? Do you have any other hobbies?
When I’m not skating a lot of the time, I’m in college, currently in my third year doing an art foundation course.
What do you plan to do with the art course once finished? Are you heading to uni or looking to get into work?
Once I finish I do want to see if I can get a job that includes art, textiles maybe some graphic design, as that’s mainly what do in the course.
9. That sounds rad, Good to be creative! Maybe look into jobs doing freelance graphic design for Skate brands?
Yeah, it seems a lot of skaters are also into their art! It goes hand in hand, and yeah I’ll definitely look into that!
10. Right then Fin, great to catch up with you and get to know you a bit more! Thanks for doing this and well done again on being Quay skater of the month!
Yeah it’s been great and big thanks again!
